Keep currency conversion and margin claims transparent
Avoid creating false precision by combining amounts that use different currencies or definitions of profit.

A listing displayed in USD may be discussed by a seller in INR or another currency. Its historical receipts and production expenses may use still more currencies. If those amounts are converted without a clear basis, a simple spreadsheet can produce a comparison that looks precise while being difficult to verify.
The same problem appears when gross income, payout and operating profit are treated as interchangeable. Preserve original amounts and definitions first, then make any necessary conversions visible. This guide organizes the evidence; it does not provide live rates, tax advice or a recommended financial transaction.
Keep the original currency with each amount
Record the amount and currency exactly as supplied, alongside its source, period and evidence date. Do not replace the original with a converted figure and discard the basis. Ask the seller to confirm ambiguous currency symbols. SocialBay’s public asking prices are displayed in USD; a seller’s message using another currency needs a clearly stated relationship to that listing amount. If income and costs use different currencies, retain separate entries until the comparison method is defined. This prevents later revisions from requiring everyone to reconstruct which number was converted and which was originally reported.
State the conversion source and date
Choose an identifiable source for an illustrative comparison and record its date and direction. Be clear whether the rate represents units of one currency per another, because reversing that relationship creates large errors. The European Central Bank describes its published reference rates as informational and discourages transaction use. A reference rate therefore should not be presented as the amount a payment provider will deliver. Do not claim a live or executable rate without current evidence. Preserve the original alongside the converted amount so the calculation can be checked and updated transparently when needed.
Separate conversion from applicable charges
A published reference rate does not include every charge that could apply to a particular service. If a separate provider becomes relevant, inspect its actual quote, fee basis and available terms. Ask whether a quoted charge is fixed, proportional or included in a rate spread, without inventing a standard fee. SocialBay offers and messages do not perform payment conversion or move funds. Do not assume that a proposed financial feature awaiting a provider is available for your plan. Any cost estimate should identify its source and status rather than inserting a confident charge that nobody has confirmed.
Define the deductions behind a margin claim
When a seller describes profit or margin, ask which costs were deducted and how the calculation was made. List revenue, expenses and the resulting amount for the same period and currency basis. Owner labor, equipment, licenses, contractor fees and one-time campaign expenses may receive different treatment in informal reports. Do not resolve that ambiguity by choosing the most favorable definition. A simple explanation can make the claim useful even when formal accounting records are limited. Keep your proposed future cost structure separate so that an estimated efficiency is not mistaken for a demonstrated historical margin.
Use enough precision for the evidence available
Round illustrative comparisons sensibly while retaining the source amounts for verification. A long decimal does not make an estimated cost or stale conversion more reliable. Note which entries could change before an agreement and which need professional clarification. Currency changes should not be used as an unsupported argument that an account has gained operational value. Your final comparison should explain the advertised amount, the original income and expenses, the conversion basis and the remaining uncertainties. This makes a discussion easier to review without promising exchange outcomes, tax treatment or financial returns.
