How to prepare a clear seller listing

Give prospective buyers useful context while keeping private credentials and personal information out of the listing.

A useful listing answers the first questions a careful buyer would ask: what the account is, who it reaches, what the evidence shows and what remains uncertain. Clear preparation can make a discussion more focused, but it does not guarantee approval, a sale or a particular price.

Before submitting, review the relevant platform’s current terms and your authority to offer the proposed arrangement. A listing on SocialBay does not grant permission from the platform or resolve another person’s rights.

1. Identify the account accurately

Choose the correct platform and provide the public profile or channel URL. Check that the handle, display name and image match the account being described. Use a factual title that helps someone distinguish the listing. Avoid implying that a platform, celebrity or unrelated business endorses your offer.

Describe the topic, language, normal publishing format and content history. Explain whether the account relies on a named presenter or personal brand. Include meaningful changes in direction so a buyer can understand how the current audience developed.

2. Prepare dated audience and activity metrics

Record the audience count and the date it was checked. Add recent reach, views, engagement and audience locations when you have evidence for them. State the period and source of each measure. An unavailable number should remain unavailable rather than being replaced with an estimate that looks exact.

Use a consistent window when comparing posts. If you calculate engagement, explain the numerator, denominator and sample. Separate public profile observations from private analytics and your own reports. Prepare evidence that shows the account identifier without exposing unrelated users’ private information.

3. Explain monetization and limitations separately

If monetization is relevant, name the program and identify the evidence date. State the revenue currency, period and whether the figure is gross revenue, payout or profit. Disclose one-off sponsorships or exceptional months so the headline does not imply a recurring result that the history cannot support.

Describe known restrictions, claims, appeals, inactive periods and unresolved issues. Do not promise continued eligibility or future earnings. For YouTube, the official Partner Program documentation explains that acceptance and ongoing eligibility involve policy review, not just audience thresholds.

4. Define scope and evidence of authority

Describe what is included in the proposal and what is excluded. This may involve content files, brand materials, a domain or production assets, but include only rights you can establish. Identify third-party licenses and collaborator agreements that require separate review.

Prepare a way to demonstrate your authority without publishing access details. YouTube provides documented owner and manager roles and warns against password sharing. The available platform mechanism and the permissibility of your particular arrangement are separate questions; investigate both before offering a process.

5. Set an asking price with an explanation

Enter the required currency carefully and confirm the amount before submitting. SocialBay public listings display USD asking prices. If your original amount is in INR or another currency, record the conversion basis and date in your preparation notes so a conversion mistake does not become the advertised price.

Explain the factors behind your expectation: relevant audience, content, documented income, costs and included assets. Asking prices from other listings are not confirmed sale prices. Avoid guaranteed returns, unsupported scarcity claims or invented performance projections.

6. Review the submission before sending it

Read the listing as someone who has never seen the account. Check every link, date and number. Use clear images you have the right to provide, and redact sensitive details from supporting material. Never include passwords, recovery codes, session cookies, API keys or payment credentials in text or images.

Submit through the seller workflow for review; submission does not automatically publish an account. Keep a copy of the evidence and update the information if circumstances change. After publication, promptly report changes in availability, restrictions or metrics so buyers can assess the current situation.

  • Public URL and title match the account.
  • Claims have dates, sources and clear limitations.
  • Scope and price are accurate; sensitive details are removed.
