Writing an accurate seller listing description

A factual description helps readers understand the proposal without relying on promotional certainty.

A listing description should explain what a reader is looking at, why it may be relevant and what the available evidence can support. Write it from your records instead of copying the language of competing listings. Clear qualifications are useful information, especially when a familiar phrase could imply more than you mean.

Convert broad claims into specific statements

Draft a claim list before writing prose. Replace active audience with a stated measure and period, and replace strong engagement with a defined calculation. In a hypothetical description, 14 posts published during September is clearer than daily activity when the account did not publish every day. Each number needs its source and date. If a figure is your own estimate, label it and explain its basis or leave it out. Avoid using exact-looking numbers as decoration; precision should reflect the quality of the underlying evidence.

Explain the content and audience context

Describe the normal subject, format, language and significant changes in direction. Mention whether a named creator or recurring series is central to the profile. Hypothetically, a page that shifted from general memes to local food recommendations should not present all historical followers as an established food community. Explain the period relevant to the current niche and what recent evidence exists. The goal is to help a reader understand expectations and production needs, rather than making a broad category sound commercially useful to every possible buyer.

Label financial and monetization claims precisely

Separate program status from receipts, and receipts from profit. Name the source, currency and period for any supported revenue statement. A hypothetical $900 sponsorship paid once should not become $900 monthly income. If an amount was invoiced but not received, say so. Record costs relevant to maintaining the publishing model and avoid a promised future return. Where a platform program is mentioned, describe the dated status you can support and direct readers to its current requirements. Audience size alone cannot establish eligibility or continued earnings.

Describe the proposal without overpromising authority

List what any permissible proposal includes and excludes, especially content files, licenses and ongoing creator work. State your role and known limitations. Do not imply that a marketplace review means the platform approved the arrangement or that ownership has been independently verified. Instagram account sales are prohibited by its terms; review that rule before describing an Instagram proposal. An asset license or creator service needs its own accurate scope. The wording should leave a reader able to distinguish documented rights, seller statements and matters requiring further review.

Review every sentence as a reader

Check whether the title, images and description tell the same story. A qualified sentence in the body cannot repair an exaggerated headline. Remove unsupported superlatives, guaranteed outcomes and urgency that you cannot substantiate. Hypothetically, changing stable monthly revenue to receipts from two campaigns last quarter makes the claim more accurate and changes how a reader will assess it. Ask which follow-up question each sentence invites and have the relevant evidence ready. Update the listing when circumstances change rather than letting a careful initial description become misleading through age.
